The UMW
Hope Circle meets in the evenings for those women
who are unable to attend the day circle. We meet the 1st
Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Brian Beam
Building and invite all Methodist women of any age to attend.
We went to Gatlinburg in November for a retreat where we studied the Book of Ruth. Check this site for information about future retreats.
We are helping St. Paul to 'go green' by purchasing recycling containers for paper, plastic, and aluminum. The paper boxes are located through-out the church while the purple and blue boxes for plastic and aluminum are located in all 3 kitchens and the youth wing.
We are also planning a rummage sale in the fall to benefit Red Bird Mission. Red Bird Mission is a Christian school in an economically depressed area of Kentucky, north of Knoxville. The Mission has day students and dormitory-housed students and the cost-per-student is approx. $6,000 per year. The Mission has experienced a cut of $2,000 per student per year and without additional support may have to close. The Hope Circle encourages St. Paul to support this rummage sale, save up those items you want to dispose of and bring them to us!
